While we consider start-ups opportunities, our primary focus is
early to mid stage companies, which have attained early market
revenues and require equity capital for growth. We usually like to
invest or raise $1.5 -$5 million per investment through our client
base. We deal with companies whose annual revenues range from $1
million to $100 million+. After submission of a business plan we
will review it and respond within a couple of weeks. If your plan
matches our criteria, we will set up a meeting to review the
opportunity further. Our funding process involves all of our
partners and requires a consensus among the team, thus each
investment decision requires that all partners meet with you and
your management team.
Southcoast Investment Group recognizes that many transactions are
time sensitive. As a result, our ability to be responsive to our
partners’ needs further sets us apart. We provide an initial
indication of interest within a few days, and can move expeditiously
through the evaluation and due diligence processes to a timely
closing. Our structure and efficient processes facilitate quick
decision making.
Our partners manage each element of the investment process
including technological, personal, legal and accounting due
diligence. We will evaluate your team, the market, the product or
service and your exit strategy. This process typically takes several
weeks. Upon team agreement we will offer a term sheet for your
consideration
Following an investment we will assign one of our partners as the
lead contact for the company. As the lead contact, the partner is
responsible for developing the relationship with the entrepreneur
and leading our investment effort.
The partner will support the company in selection of key
management personnel, strategic development and involvement in all
other vital business activities. Delta is commonly the lead investor
and often represents the first venture capital investment in a
company. Once your company has built sufficient momentum and
experienced management is involved, we will transition from a more
intensive role to one of active board participation.
